PicoCell and PicoBlender product lines achieve UL 61800-5-1 certification

SunTech Drive is pleased to announce that both their PicoCell and PicoBlender product lines are now UL certified to UL 61800-5-1 Standard for Adjustable Speed Electrical Power Drive Systems – Part 5-1: Safety Requirements – Electrical, Thermal and Energy. During the certification evaluation, the products were tested to both UL 61800-5-1 and the UL 1741 Standard for Inverters, Converters, Controllers and Interconnection System Equipment for Use With Distributed Energy Resources.

“We are pleased to see a UL certification to UL 61800-5-1 for products that straddle the solar and variable frequency drive sectors”, said Jeff Smidt, Vice President & General Manager, Energy and Power Technologies Division at UL.

SunTech’s products offer full Internet-of-Things and solar ready variable frequency drives that will work with any electric motor regardless of voltage, frequency or phase. These universal motor controllers also support multiple analog and digital sensors making every motor an intelligent distributed energy end node. These products are deployed around the globe in applications including livestock cooling, water pumping and oil and gas installations.

“As a testament to the talents of our engineering team, led by Dr. Nikola Milivojevic, we are very excited to earn the UL Mark to demonstrate our commitment to product safety”, said John LoPorto, Chief Executive Officer of SunTech Drive.
